Mining sapphires and gold at Eureka Gulch since 2011.
Eureka Gulch is our primary property and shows exceptional promise.
Gem Mountain is a geographical region that has a number of historically producing gulches and drainages. The vast majority of these sapphire producing gulches are to the south side of Gem Mountain and to the north of the “West Fork” of Rock Creek which for clarity’s sake we are calling “Rock Creek”. Also there is an additional area producing less significant sapphire volumes but significant quantities of gold in placers as both nuggets and fine gold sands. These areas are to the north west side of Gem Mountain. This more northerly region includes a number of gulches as well and specifically one called “Eureka Gulch” which is owned by Potentate Mining.
Since 2011, Potentate has been mining sapphires and gold at Eureka Gulch and operating jigs and sluices. Since the acquisition of the Rock Creek properties in early 2014, Potentate has been testing and assessing the Rock Creek sapphire district and expects to commence in 2015 the operation of a new jig plant and settling pond for the recovery of sapphires The larger volume of sapphire production will come from areas north of Rock Creek on the south side of Gem Mountain.
